Sharing & Collaboration
Mockitt offers powerful sharing and collaboration capabilities. You can share files for viewing in various ways and add collaborators to edit files together.
Default Share
Setting Access Permissions
In Default Share, you can set access permissions for the share link:
- For prototype files in your Personal Workspace, the default share permission is "Everyone".
- For prototype files in a Team Workspace, you can choose "Everyone" or "Team members only".
Sharing Methods
Default Share provides three ways to share:
- Copy Link: Copy the share link to send to others.
- Scan Code: Click Scan Code to generate a QR code for the prototype file. You can take a screenshot and send the QR code to others, allowing them to scan and view your prototype on mobile devices.
- Embed: This allows you to embed your prototype file into third-party software. Copy the corresponding code and paste it into the third-party platform to embed the Mockitt file.
Share Settings
In Default Share, you can configure the following settings:
- Password Protection: Select Password Protection to set a password for your prototype file. When others open the link, they will need to enter the password to view the file.
- Show Annotations: Select Show Annotations to let others see your annotations in the prototype file. If disabled, they can only see the prototype without annotations.
- Allow Comments: Select Allow Comments to let others add comments while viewing your prototype. If disabled, they cannot comment.
- Skip Mobile Prompt: If unchecked, users opening the link on a mobile phone will see a prompt page to choose how to view the file. If checked, the link will bypass this page and start browsing the prototype immediately.
Advanced Share
Advanced Share provides more options, including share title, share type, basic settings, and visible canvases. You can create multiple advanced share links to manage project permissions for different teams or purposes.
Create Advanced Share
In the file editor, click the Share button in the top right corner and select Advanced Share (or create a new custom link) to start.
Set Share Title
You can set a title for each Advanced Share link to better manage different shared content.
Set Default View Mode
There are two view modes: Overview and Presentation.
- Overview Mode: The link opens in Overview mode, allowing users to view all pages via the link.
- Presentation Mode: The link opens in Real Device Presentation mode, which responds to interaction events.
Basic Settings
In Advanced Share, you can configure the same settings as Default Share, such as Password Protection, Annotations, and Comments.
Visible Canvas
Advanced Share allows you to select specific canvases to share. You can choose to share all or a subset of canvases. Note: This selects the Canvas (Flow), not individual pages; therefore, all pages under the selected Canvas will be shared.
Create Multiple Share Links
In the Share panel, select New Share to create a new share link. You can distinguish them by naming them differently.
The settings for each link are independent; modifying settings for one link will not affect others.
Close Share
Once a prototype is shared, people with access permissions can view it via the link.
Revoke Default Share
To stop sharing, simply toggle the Link Permission status in the Default Share panel to "Off".
When turned off, the link becomes invalid, and others can no longer view your prototype file through it. Turning it back on will reactivate the link.
Delete Advanced Share
For links created via Advanced Share, you can directly delete them. Once deleted, others will no longer be able to access your prototype file via that link.
Add Collaborators
Mockitt supports adding collaborators, allowing team members to edit and comment on files together, improving collaboration efficiency.
How to Add Collaborators
- Click Share in the top right corner of the File Editor.
- In the Share panel, find and click the Add Collaborator button.
- Enter the collaborator's email address or username, select the appropriate permission (such as Edit, View, or Comment), and click Add.
Collaborator Permissions
Collaborators can perform the following actions based on their assigned permissions:
- Edit: The collaborator can edit the file and modify content.
- Comment: The collaborator can add and reply to comments in the file.
- View: The collaborator can view the file content but cannot edit or comment.
By setting permissions appropriately, you can ensure file security and efficient collaboration.
